Impressive increase of sales and earnings for the financial year ended in June 2009

Despite the difficult macroeconomic environment the Group managed to exceed the increase in sales and earnings of the first half of the financial year 2008/2009. For the first half of the financial year 2008/2009 sales increased by 15.72% y-o-y. Group’s sales on the second half (01/01/2009-30/06/2009) grew with a better pace than the first half of 2008/2009. As a result the annual sales growth reached 15.81% y-o-y. Moreover, the annual net profit for the financial year 2008/2009 is expected to be above 15.03% y-o-y which was the net profit growth of the first half of 2008/2009. Positive are also the first indications on sales level of the first two months of the current financial year July 2009-June 2010. Sales’ growth is in line with the management’s target of 8% annual growth. Today, the Group operates 44 stores of which 41 are located in Greece, 2 in Cyprus and 1 in Bulgaria while continues its investment program which includes the opening of 2 new hyper stores at the current financial year and 4 new hyper stores on the financial year 2010/2011. Jumbo SA will announce the annual results for the financial year ended in June 2009 on 24 September 2009 after the end of trading on Athens Exchange.
