Jumbo group the biggest retail company of toys, baby products, stationary products and other relevant products in Greece announces the sales for the ten months of the current financial year which includes the sales of the Greek Orthodox Easter. Despite the difficult macroeconomic environment, group’s sales growth reached 15.55% y-o-y for the ten months of the current financial year which includes the sales of the Greek Orthodox Easter. The Group succeeded that great performance with the contribution of the Jumbo stores in Greece which kept their dynamics. Moreover, the performance of the stores in Cyprus justifies the management’s strategic decision to decrease the prices (Euro parity) after the country adopted the Euro. In Bulgaria the company accelerates its investment program aiming to the opening of the Group’s second store in the country during the next financial year as the performance of the company’s first store in the country is exceptional. During the third quarter the company proceeded with the restructuring of its network and closed one store in Athens (Cholargos) in January 2009. In March the company launched the hyper-store in Aspropirgos of 9.200sqm. Today, the Group operates 44 stores of which 41 are located in Greece, 2 in Cyprus and 1 in Bulgaria. The company will announce the nine months results on May 20th after the end of trading on Athens Exchange.
