A surplus of confidence at JUMBO stores
According to the longtime commitment of the Group’s administration, shareholders and partners are informed validly and on time for the Group’s performance, as soon as reliable data is available long before the official obligatory announcements.
During the first half of the financial year 2016/2017:
At the Group level, sales recorded an increase of + 8,11% y-o-y to EUR 401,90 million during the first half of the current financial year, i.e. from July 2016 until December 2016, (from EUR 371,75 million at the corresponding period of last year).
According to the budget of the Group for the FY 2016/2017, sales are expected to increase between 4% and 7%. This estimation is not to be revised due to the ongoing downward trend in the Greek market.
Jumbo opened a new leased hyper store in Bulgaria of approximately 11.000sqm in November. The investments in Romania are on progress and at least two hyper stores are expected to open in the country until Christmas 2017. A new hyper store is expected to open in Northern Greece at the same period of time.
Jumbo operates today a network of 72 stores, of which 51 are in Greece, 5 in Cyprus, 9 in Bulgaria and 7 in Romania, as well as its online store www.e-jumbo.gr.
Special attention is given on international collaborations in the new Balkan markets. The Company has already a presence through partnerships with stores bearing Jumbo brand name in four countries (FYROM, Albania, Kosovo, Serbia).
As for the current fiscal year, the branch network of the franchisers is expected to expand in the countries they are already operating, while the entrance in the market of Bosnia is also expected with the opening of the first store of a local franchiser bearing Jumbo brand name.

- The stores in Greece recorded an increase of approximately 1,5% despite the downward trend that has been noted since the middle of September.
- The stores in Cyprus recorded an increase of approximately 3%.
- The stores in Bulgaria and Romania recorded double digit growth in terms of sales.
