Against the crisis, the increase in turnover for Jumbo Group continued
Despite the exceptionally difficult economic situation Jumbo Group’s sales during the first half of the current financial year (July 2011- June 2012) increased by approximately 1% from the respective period last year and reached € 293m approximately. This result is in line with the management’s projection of achieving sales growth between zero (0%) and two (2%) in the current fiscal year.
The above performance is the result of the acceleration of the investment part of the Jumbo strategy for the opening six + six new hyperstores for fiscal years 2011 and 2012 combined with the achieved increase of the productivity of the Group’s employees without this rise to disproportionately effect the profitability of the company.
