Children and adults together support the JUMBO’s stores
Despite the economic difficulties, November retained its positive momentum on sales for the Jumbo stores. Consequently, the Group's sales for the first five months of the current financial year (July 2012 - June 2013) amounted to EUR 200,39 million, increased by 2,59% compared to the same period last year. It is recalled that according to the budget for the current fiscal year 2012-2013, that was presented by the management during the recent General Meeting of shareholders, sales are estimated to grow between 0% and 2%,.
November’s positive performance is attributed to the significant store’s sales increase in Bulgaria in combination with the limited store’s sales increase in Cyprus and the stability of the store’s sales in Greece.
The JUMBO Group is facing the current challenging economic reality in Greece by investing with optimism in the future.
In a period that large business groups leave Greece in order to tackle the crisis, JUMBO strengthens its presence in the country. In July and August the Group opened two stores, the first at Nea Philadelphia (Attica) of total surface of 10ths sqm and the second at Palaio Faliro (Attica) of total surface 7,5ths sqm while in November opened the new rented store at Thermis (Thessaloniki) of total surface 9ths. sq.m..
Today, Jumbo Group operates a network of 61 stores of which 51 are located in Greece, 3 in Cyprus and 7 in Bulgaria.
Furthermore, in the following days is expected to open the eighth hyper-store of the Group in Bulgaria. This new owned hyper –store will operate in Sofia and its total surface will be 12ths sq.m.
Until the end of June 2013 it is estimated that two more store will open in Greece.
