Neither the phenomenal economic crisis, nor the bad weather, nor the demonstrations and strikes in January succeeded to restrain consumer’s loyalty to JUMBO.
In a time that the retail sales in Greece decline dramatically, the companies of the industry have been engaged in a fight for survival and melee with unique promotions and discounts. Jumbo Group’s sales for the seven months (July 2011 - January 2012) of the current financial year 2011/2012, increased by 1.40% compared to the same period last year. During January consumers returned and with their daily vote improved the seven months sales growth rate from the six –month levels (0.99%). Despite the uncertainty, early indications of February’s trade remain positive. Τhe management points that the target for the fiscal year ending in June 30, 2012 is sales growth between zero (0%) and two (2 %).
Today, the Group operates a network of 56 stores of which 47 are in Greece, 3 in Cyprus and 6 in Bulgaria and proceeds to the completion and the operation of two more stores. In particular, one new store in Russell, Bulgaria, and one more in Attica, Greece.
